Sheldon Family Dental

Technology

Technology makes life easier and more convenient in so many ways, and your dentistry is no different. Dr. Ali Ismail and Dr. Carla Ismail implement new technology to improve patient safety, comfort, and successful outcomes. Here are some of the bells and whistles you can expect when you visit at Sheldon Family Dental.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Because your teeth are covered in protective enamel, and much of the tooth lies beneath the gum line, not every condition is detectable through a visual exam alone. Digital dental x-rays help Dr. Ali and Dr. Carla see dental problems in the earliest stages before they become a painful dental emergency.

Digital dental x-rays are far safer than their film-based predecessors, emitting up to 80 percent less radiation. Additionally, digital x-rays appear instantly on the chairside monitor for you and your dentist to review together so that you completely understand your oral conditions and treatment options.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation Dentistry

Our team is empathetic to the fear that many people have when they go to the dental office. Nitrous oxide sedation is safe for most people—including children.

Nitrous oxide is a gas that our dentists administer through a small nose mask. We can control the sedation level to ensure patient comfort during a procedure. Then, once the appointment is over, we replace the nitrous oxide with pure oxygen, which will help you feel completely awake and alert again so that you can resume your day.

Sedation with nitrous oxide is also beneficial for patients who have challenges sitting still, and for those who have difficulty getting numb.

Televisions in Treatment Rooms

We know that some people like a distraction from the sights and sounds of the dental office, which is why we have televisions mounted in each of our patient treatment rooms. You can sit back and enjoy your favorite movie or show while we look after your dental health.

Microscope-Assisted Dentistry

Teeth are tiny structures, and performing treatment on a specific part of the tooth requires detail and precision. Microscope-assisted dentistry helps our dentists see the most accurate picture available, and is particularly beneficial for performing root canal therapy.

Microscopes mounted above the dental chair make it possible for Dr. Ali and Dr. Carla to see the smallest part of the tooth structure for improved outcomes and increased patient comfort.
